What to Expect from Psychological Assessment:
We have an initial consultation telephonically or through Zoom, during which we will go over your reasons for getting assessed and whether there is anything specific you want to be tested for, e.g. ADHD, autism, personality disorders, mood disorders, trauma, etc.
Based on your requirements and the questions you need answered, you will receive a quote for the assessment. Once you’ve accepted the quote, you will provide insight into your world via an intake questionnaire, which you will receive by email upon booking.
As per your booking, we will meet either in person at my office in SE Calgary or via Zoom for you to complete a series of psychological questionnaires/tests and/or interview sessions, depending on what’s required.
You may also be asked to complete certain questionnaires/tests at home in your own time, which will need to be completed and submitted before the final evaluation can be done.
Your tests are then scored and an evaluation is completed based on all of the above and you receive a written report and diagnoses, if any, which are also explained in the final debriefing session.
What to Expect from Individual Counselling:
You provide insight into your world through an intake questionnaire prior to our first session, which you will receive by email upon booking.
We meet either in person at my office in SE Calgary or through Zoom where I get to know you and what you need from me. This may include general assessments to get an understanding of your mental health.
Based on your specific situation, personality, and learning style, I typically integrate treatment modalities to formulate the treatment plan and resources that will be the most effective for you.
We work through your stuff at a pace you’re comfortable with and adjust course as needed.
Once you reach a better place in your mental health, we have a conversation about reducing sessions to an as-needed basis or terminating therapy.
What to Expect from Couples/Relationship Counselling:
You and your partner(s) provide insight into your relationship through an intake questionnaire prior to our first session, which you will receive by email upon booking.
I meet with you and your partner(s) either in person at my office in SE Calgary or via Zoom and get to know your relationship dynamics and what you would like to achieve through counselling.
We meet individually for a session each to help me get to know you each individually.
We come back together and work through your stuff, which will either result in your relationship improving and becoming stronger or, at the very least, give you clearer insight into your needs and behavioural patterns as well as those of your partner(s).
You get to make any choices you need to make from a more well-informed standpoint.
